The Aries tribe was granted passage from Earth by divine decree, set upon their own path among the scattered zodiac signs. Their path brought them to Arietis, where sulphur chokes the air and heat rises from cracked earth.
Rae, son of the Starborn, holds them together as they build their new home from ash and stone. They build a capital called Hamal amid volcanic landscapes. Each day brings fresh challenges on this hostile alien world, but they endure.
Then scouts stumble back with blood on their clothes and fear in their voices. Something else lives here. Something that's been watching since they arrived.

This is a new genre for me but it has started a new interest. Makes the idea of globe warming even more worrying!
I really enjoyed the world building and pacing of AWF, it swept me up completely. The writing is very driven and focussed which keeps you swept up with the story and it's well balanced. Looking forward to the next book!
