Piscum is a world of endless, luminous oceans and scattered archipelagos where the boundary between the physical and the astral grows impossibly thin. Bioluminescent currents trace patterns beneath the surface like veins of living light, and the skies shimmer with auroras that seem to respond to the thoughts of those below. The Pisces tribe has built a civilization attuned to the rhythms of sea and spirit, guided by visions and sustained by the deep wisdom of the tides.
Piscum's surface is over ninety percent ocean, with scattered chains of coral islands and floating reef-platforms that drift on the currents. The Abyssal Veil is a region of deep ocean where light from below outshines light from above, creating an otherworldly inversion. The Dreaming Shallows stretch between the southern islands, their crystal-clear waters revealing vast gardens of bioluminescent coral. Beneath the surface, the Tideways form a network of warm currents that the Pisces tribe uses for travel and trade between settlements.
Alrescha rises from the largest island chain, its structures built from pearlstone and living coral that continues to grow and reshape itself over time. At its centre stands the Temple of Tides, fashioned from the hull of the starship that carried the tribe to Piscum. The temple sits half-submerged, its lower chambers accessible only by diving through bioluminescent pools. The city's spires are crowned with crystal lenses that focus moonlight into the streets below, bathing Alrescha in a perpetual soft glow after nightfall.
Piscum teems with life both above and below the waves. Dreamkelp forests sway in the deep currents, their fronds releasing gentle spores that induce visions in those who breathe them. Moonpetal Lilies bloom on the surface of still lagoons, their petals translucent and faintly glowing. Beneath the water, Prism Jellyfish drift in vast shoals, refracting light into cascading rainbows. Tidecallers — enormous, gentle creatures resembling luminous manta rays — serve as companions and mounts for the Pisces tribe, communicating through pulses of light and empathic resonance.
The Pisces tribe lives in harmony with the ocean, viewing it as both home and teacher. Dreaming is considered sacred — the tribe's seers enter trance states to commune with the astral currents and glimpse the threads of fate. The Festival of the Deep Tide is their most important gathering, a night when the entire tribe dives together into the Abyssal Veil to witness the lights below and share collective visions of the future. The Pisces tribe believes that the oceans of Piscum are the dreams of a sleeping cosmic being — a vast consciousness that rests beneath the deepest trench.
